Bio

I am a young composer and vocalist from the Anglosphere who composes in a unique style that derives from the Western art music or “classical” tradition, yet incorporates diverse elements from the modern age, from jazz to heavy metal to new age, and everything in between.

Considering myself a lover and a teller of stories since youth, my original inspiration came from the union of image and sound, still exemplified in many of my projects and in my solo compositions.

Musically, I seek to break down the hierarchy of genres and to produce true art music that can use as-of-yet-untapped sonic resources to achieve something totally new and identifiable, all the while continuing to exploit and further develop the harmonic possibilities achieved by both Western and Eastern cultures throughout the world’s history.

Owing perhaps to my vocal background, my music is known for its song-like and lyrical quality, and is often characterized by its melodic memorability, but also for its tendency to reach into the realm of the mystical and evocative.

As a composer, I would like to mine the past for what gems it has to offer, in order to push the music of today into the mysteries of the future. I strive for versatility in all of my work and hope to be challenged with as many new styles as possible, for to me, they are all new modes of expression with new possibilities.

Vocally, I consider myself a baritone and am trained in classical-style singing, but also enjoy bridging into the worlds of jazz, popular music, and also ethnic music styles.
