Soundtrack
by Leon Lindon
I forgot I had written a small soundtrack for a clip of the German film Metropolis for school some time ago. We were told to imitate the styles of two of the composers we had studied, so I chose Philip Glass and Claude Debussy. I mimicked Philip Glass in the inclusion of repetitive arpeggiated chord structures with a lyrical melody atop them. Claude Debussy was imitated in the inclusion of planed chords, modal notes, and soft dynamics.
(Note: I used the video clip strictly for educational purposes under the principle known as fair usage. The original copyright holders retain the rights to it and I do not intend to infringe upon them. However, the music is my own and I reserve all rights to it).

Nice, LOVE what you did at the end.
Thanks! That was really the most Debussy-esque part in the song, as I used planed 7ths to capture the sensitivity there. According to the assignment I really wasn’t supposed to necessarily “synchronize” all of the action but I couldn’t help but show some sort of change there since the camera shifts into such a different focus from anywhere previously in the scene.
